Advanced Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) - Course Outline

Course Code: HLT60307

Dress: Emergency medical attire and enclosed footware appropriate to the sector.

Prerequisites:

  • English, reading, writing, comprehension and communication skills.
  • Ability to use and analyse simple data, relation and pattern, number, measurement and shape.
  • Ability to participate in small and informal groups within a virtual enterprise environment.
  • You must be capable of completing the course.
  • You must hold a current full or unrestricted Australian, Territory or International Driver's Licence.
  • You must successfully pass a Police background check
  • You must hold a current Advanced First Aid Certificate - or higher - and you must have held that certificate for at least 12 months.
  • You must have basic numeracy and literacy skills

Successful completion of the Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) course is also a prerequisite for the Advanced Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance)

  • HLTOHS456A Identify, assess and control OHS risk in own work

Packaging Rules
9 units of competency are required for this qualification including:

  • All 7 core units
  • 2 elective units
  • A wide range of elective units is available and may include:
    • Relevant electives listed below the core units for this qualification
    • Units of competency available at Certificate Advanced Diploma level in the Health and/or Community Services Training Packages
    • The elective units of competency may be selected from other relevant Training Package units available at Advanced Diploma level

Assessment
The assessment is based on competency, which is the ability to perform specific skills, and a combination of observation, discussion, written assignments, tests, examinations and practical application projects. Students are required to attend tests and examinations as scheduled by Business Education Training Australia.
