Certificate III in Basic Health Care - Course Outline

Course Code: HLT33107

Dress: Emergency medical attire and enclosed footware appropriate to the sector.

Prerequisites:

English, reading, writing, comprehension and communication skills.
Ability to use and analyse simple data, relation and pattern, number, measurement and shape.
Ability to participate in small and informal groups within a virtual enterprise environment.
You must be capable of completing the course.
You must hold a current full or unrestricted Australian, Territory or International Driver's Licence.
You must successfully pass a Police background check
You must hold a current Advanced First Aid Certificate - or higher - and you must have held that certificate for at least 12 months.
You must have basic numeracy and literacy skills

Assessment: The assessment is based on competency, which is the ability to perform specific skills, and a combination of observation, discussion, written assignments, tests, examinations and practical application projects. Students are required to attend tests and examinations as scheduled by Business Education Training Australia.

Group B electives - recommended for medical assisting work in Defence
Electives may be selected for medical assisting work in Defence from The list below. Electives identified by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as specific to medical assisting work in the defence forces, which are: - units of competency with codes beginning HLTDEFHC as listed in HLT43107 Certificate IV in Defence Health Care are available only to ADF personnel.
