Certificate III in Basic Health Care

People with this qualification are employed as first responders to medical emergencies in the construction, manufacturing and mining industries as well as the Defence Force (ADF). Click the button below for a full course outline.

When you obtain this qualification you will be qualified as a First Aid Provider, a Medical Assistant (Defence) as well as being qualified for voluntary or paid ambulance work.

Course Prerequisites
Before you can commence this paramedic training you will need a current unrestricted Australian or International Driver's Licence and have no disabilities that may prevent you from carrying out the duties required for someone with these qualifications. You must also have a current Advanced First Aid Certificate and have held it for at least 12 months.

A police background check will also be undertaken prior to commencing this course.

The Certificate III in Basic Health Care is made up of an e-Learning component complete with a workbook that we supply and support from an instructor.

Study time: 4 months.

Practical experience: 6 weeks

*You should also note that we may not be able to be quite so flexible with the practical experience times.
