Non-emergency patient transport cares for the transport needs of patients who are suffering from non-acute illnesses and injuries, chronic illnesses or disabilities.
These patients are not facing life-threatening emergencies and their transport is not at a speed that is normally associated with emergency situations.
Once qualified a person who holds a Certificate III in Non-Emergency Client Transport can obtain work as an Ambulance Transport Officer or a Patient Transport Officer.
Course Prerequisites
Before you can commence these paramedics courses you will need a current unrestricted Australian or International Driver's Licence and have no disabilities that may prevent you from carrying out the duties required for someone with these qualifications. You must also have a current Advanced First Aid Certificate and have held it for at least 12 months.
A police background check will also undertaken prior to commencing this course.
